How to Calculate Exact Age?
Calculating exact age isn't as simple as it seems — leap years, varying month lengths, and timezone differences all matter.
Simple Method
Age in years = Current year − Birth year
(subtract 1 if birthday hasn't occurred yet this year)
Exact Age
For precise age in years, months and days:
- Calculate complete years since birth
- Calculate months since last birthday
- Calculate days since start of current month period
Example
Born: March 15, 1990 | Today: June 27, 2026
Years: 36 (birthday already passed this year)
Months: 3 (April, May, June)
Days: 12
Exact age: 36 years, 3 months and 12 days
